Vincennes has seven named to All-Region 24 teams

More than a half-dozen basketball players from Vincennes University were recognized for their achievements on the court this past season by being named to their respective All-Region 24 teams.

On the men's side, the Trailblazers had three players recognized, including Kevin Osawe, Craig Porter and Chinedu Okanu.

Osawe (Bramton, Ontario, Canada) played in all 33 games for VU, including 32 starts and averaged a double-double. He led the Trailblazers in scoring at 17.2 points per game and rebounding with 10.2 per contest, while also averaging 1.9 assists per game.

Porter (Terre Haute, Ind.) played in 31 games, including 26 starts, averaging 14.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, 7.6 assists, 2.1 blocked shots and 1.4 steals per contest.

Okanu (Gary, Ind.) averaged 10.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and just under one blocked shot per game while playing in all 33 games, including 30 starts.

On the women's side, four VU players made the team, including Fess Hawkins, Jhala Henry, Jaynice Stovall and Amani Brown.

Hawkins (Bentonville, Ark.) started all 32 games for VU this season and averaged 15.7 points, 14.5 rebounds, 1.7 blocked shots and just under one assist and one steal per contest.

Henry (Jeffersonville, Ind.) also started all 32 games and led VU in scoring with a 20.1 points-per-game average, while also averaging 4.2 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2.5 assists per game.

Stovall (Covington, Ky.) played in 30 games, all of them starts, averaging 16.1 points, 6.2 assists, 3.9 steals and 3.1 rebounds per contest.

Brown (Terre Haute, Ind.) played in 30 games, 22 of which were starts and posted averages of 15.1 points, 3.4 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game.
