Bridgeport City Council to hold teleconference meeting on April 14

By Crystal Wimberly

BRIDGEPORT - The Bridgeport City Council will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 14, however, instead of meeting in person at Bridgeport City Hall, the council will hold its meeting by teleconference.

The public is invited to listen in on the meeting which will begin at 7 p.m. The conference call number is 1-408-418-9388 and the access code is 621 129 473. The line will then request a user ID number, the caller should instead press the pound key.

In addition, the City of Bridgeport is reminding all citizens of the stay at home order which has been issued by Governor J.B. Pritzker. Under the order, residents are only to be out if the travel is considered essential. The stay at home order will remain in effect until April 30.

The city will hold its annual city-wide clean-up on Monday, May 4 and Tuesday, May 5. The clean-up will include everyone inside the city limits but will exclude those residents who has a past due bill with Atkins Sanitation. Residents are asked to bring their bills current before the city clean-up days. Both Monday, May 4 and Tuesday, May 5 will be city-wide pick-up. Most larger items will be picked up on Tuesday, May 5.

City Hall has extended all municipal licenses for trash, liquor, gaming and more, through Friday, July 31. Those wishing to receive a new license before then can still apply and pay.

City Hall is being staffed and residents are asked to call 945-7323 with any questions or issues.
