|Hartley takes on sales role at Record|
LAWRENCEVILLE - Robinson native Dan Hartley has joined the Daily Record staff in advertising.
Hartley, 28, started working in Lawrenceville on March 9, after spending three weeks in training at the Robinson Daily News.
A 2011 graduate of Robinson High School, Hartley earned a degree in journalism - with a focus on advertising - from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale in 2016.
"I'm excited to be a part of the community," said Hartley, who was born in Providence, Rhode Island, and moved around the country quite a bit when he was very young. "I'm looking forward to meeting with the businesses and developing relationships. I'm looking forward to helping their businesses."
Hartley joined the newspaper as it is making the transition from a daily to a weekly publication. The Daily Record will also soon begin putting more emphasis on its web page, www.lawdailyrecord.com.
"I like the fact that the newspaper industry is changing, and that I get to be a part of that," he said.
He said adapting to the "sales culture" will be challenging.
"It's a little different that what I'm used to, but it's something I'm learning and picking up as I go," he said.
