Mayor Wagner's 'State of the City'
Following is the text of Lawrenceville Mayor Don Wagner's State of the City address, delivered at Thursday's meeting of the Lawrenceville City Council:

The city council, city employees, police department and mayor pledge to work every day to grow our economy, balance our budget and make our city a better place to live and work.

We intend to work on grants to help fund cleanup of unsafe buildings, provide safe routes to our excellent schools and update the infrastructure of Lawrenceville.

We want to lay a foundation that will make Lawrenceville a place that can grow in the future and attract businesses and people of all ages to live in our community.

The city council and the mayor are the voice of the public. We welcome input from everyone. We will work to retain current businesses and welcome new businesses. We still have some large businesses and some third and fourth generation businesses for which we are thankful.

Just think, we could be anywhere in the country in a few hours because of our location near major airports and highways. It is my privilege to serve as your mayor. I'm honored to stand with you and be inspired by you. I do love Lawrenceville and want it to grow, prosper and be a better home for us all.
